A public agency in British Columbia is seeking a qualified vendor to provide a secure, cloud-based traffic video detection system. The scope of work includes delivering a solution with cloud-based communications and storage, ensuring secure browser-based access for authorized users. The interface must be compatible with widely-used browsers such as Edge, Chrome, and Safari.
The system should incorporate an adaptive signal timing feature that leverages adjustable delay functions for trucks, transit, vehicles, pedestrians, and cyclists, thereby optimizing signal timings at intersections. It must utilize a hybrid detection approach with two or more sensor types, provide advanced detection capabilities of at least 100 meters from the stop bar, and enable transit vehicle prioritization. Additional requirements include the detection of individuals in vehicle and bicycle lanes, multi-use paths, or sidewalks up to 50 meters ahead of the stop bar, as well as in crosswalks and cross rides. The contract will have a duration of two years.
