DESCRIPTION

The agency is seeking a vendor to provide, implement, transition, and support a SaaS enterprise backup and recovery solution. The solution must integrate with existing infrastructure and protect workloads across VMware, Microsoft Hyper-V, Proxmox, and physical server environments. The agency intends to establish new backup sets, and migration of historical repositories or backup data from the incumbent service is not anticipated.

The solution must support at least 1,000 protected entities and provide two geographically separate cloud-based storage locations, each with a minimum capacity of 200 TiB. It must be managed through a web-based SaaS interface, avoid the need for an on-premises management server except where supporting agents are required, and provide a dedicated university tenancy with segregated data, configuration, administration, and access controls.

Required capabilities include application-level backups for Active Directory, MySQL, Microsoft SQL, MongoDB, Office 365, and Exchange Server; image-based or file-and-folder backups for Linux and Windows physical servers; immutable backups; scheduled automated recovery testing; source-side compression; and encryption of data in transit and at rest following deduplication and compression. The vendor must provide an implementation and transition plan, support a proof-of-concept environment, demonstrate backup and recovery of representative workloads, and successfully demonstrate VMware virtual machine recovery. Questions must be submitted by October 7, 2026.
