The State of Iowa is seeking a software solution capable of autonomously detecting firearms and incidents through live security camera feeds. The required system must provide continuous monitoring 24/7/365, leveraging ethical deep-learning artificial intelligence for real-time identification of visible risks and threats—including the detection of unholstered firearms and other critical safety concerns. Unlike systems based on motion or rule-based detection, the proposed solution must utilize advanced AI not reliant on traditional machine learning models.
Upon the detection of an event or threat, alerts, notifications, and necessary data should be delivered immediately, or within 1-2 seconds, to ensure prompt incident response. Strong data security is essential: the solution must use cryptographic hash functions such as SHA-256 to verify video and data integrity during transmission, implement digital signatures to confirm the authenticity of files, and employ watermarking to prevent unauthorized redistribution of video content. Additionally, robust access control measures, such as token-based authentication, are required to protect live streams, and transmission paths must be safeguarded with firewalls and intrusion prevention systems (IPS).
