Auditorium Walls Design-Build Restoration Service

The government authority in Thomaston, Connecticut, seeks a qualified Design-Builder to provide design-build restoration services for auditorium walls. The work includes reviewing prior finishes studies and historic photographs, conducting supplemental on-site verification as needed, and developing a complete decorative scheme for Owner approval.

Required design deliverables include digital renderings applied to Owner-furnished elevations, a color schedule with standard color references and paint draw-downs, full-size pattern drawings for each stencil and border, placement diagrams, and finish notes. The Design-Builder must also conduct a hands-on plaster survey from scaffolding across all wall surfaces in the work area, documenting conditions through annotated drawings and photographs.

Restoration work will include stabilizing, consolidating, and repairing visible cracks, losses, water damage, and failed prior patches, including three-coat repairs where required. Existing distemper paint or other coatings must be evaluated for compatibility, with appropriate isolating primers or sealers identified and incorporated into a sound, compatible finish system. The contract period will be one year.
