DESCRIPTION

The selected consultant will provide affordable housing consulting and marketing support services for a one-year contract period. Consulting services will support Planning & Development staff recommendations and agency decisions concerning affordable and workforce housing components of land use applications and development proposals.

The consultant will provide guidance based on expertise in real estate finance and New York State affordable housing subsidy programs; conduct financial, policy, and planning research; and prepare written reports or recommendations for the Department of Planning & Development, Planning Commission, or Common Council.

Marketing support will include helping the City, property owners, and developers market affordable and workforce housing units to eligible families, establishing a registration system for interested applicants, developing outreach materials for diverse audiences—including Spanish-language and other translated materials—and assisting local residents with income eligibility documentation and application processes.
