The City of Dixon, California, requests proposals to conduct an Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) self-evaluation, develop a comprehensive transition plan, and provide facilities conditions assessment services. The selected consultant will identify barriers to accessibility regarding city-owned facilities and public infrastructure within the public right-of-way, and outline specific steps and a schedule for achieving ADA compliance. The plan must also specify the responsible official for implementation.
Responsibilities include assisting the City with a thorough self-evaluation of all programs, services, activities, facilities, and the public right-of-way to determine ADA compliance. Field inspections of City-owned facilities and infrastructure must be performed to assess compliance and identify areas for improvement. Based on these findings, the consultant will prepare a new ADA Self-Evaluation and Transition Plan.
In addition, the selected firm will develop or recommend ongoing procedures, training programs, and implementation tools to support continual ADA compliance for city operations.
