DESCRIPTION

The vendor will provide wired and wireless connectivity services to replace an existing wireless communications infrastructure that has reached end of life and no longer meets the operational requirements of a government authority in Wichita, Kansas. The new system will support reliable, secure, high-speed connectivity for water system operations through a combination of fiber-optic and wireless communications technologies.

The wireless system must provide encrypted, high-speed point-to-point TCP/IP connectivity between designated facilities, using AES-256 or equivalent encryption and full TCP/IP network transport capability. The system must offer industrial-grade reliability suitable for utility operations and provide a minimum network capacity of 2.5 Gbps, scalable to 5 Gbps or greater, to support SCADA, telemetry, video surveillance, and future bandwidth needs without requiring replacement of the core network infrastructure.

The fiber infrastructure work includes installation of underground fiber-optic cable between designated facilities, along with approximately 25 Quazite access boxes or handholes at specified points along the fiber routes. Questions must be submitted no later than August 10, 2026.
