Capital Region Airport Commission
Organization overview and procurement intelligence available on paid plans.
A government authority in Richmond, Virginia seeks to procure professional Wi-Fi survey and wireless assessment services for airport facilities and operational areas. The selected vendor will be responsible for conducting comprehensive predictive, passive, and active wireless surveys to evaluate the current wireless coverage, performance, interference issues, and infrastructure conditions.
Key tasks include assessing signal quality, roaming capabilities, interference, and coverage throughout designated areas. Vendors are required to supply all necessary labor, software, equipment, and materials and coordinate all activities with Commission staff during regular business hours. Technical performance requirements involve validating signal strength, analyzing signal-to-noise ratios, interference sources, assessing capacity in high-occupancy environments, and identifying dead zones or performance deficiencies.
A comprehensive final report is required, including wireless coverage heat maps (2.4 GHz, 5 GHz, and 6 GHz if relevant), documentation of deficiencies and interferences, recommended access point locations, and suggestions for infrastructure enhancement. Photos, notes on mounting and cabling, a bill of materials for suggested hardware, and an executive summary with prioritized recommendations must also be provided. The contract period is one year.
