The required solution must deliver detailed vehicle information—such as make, model, and model year—when supplied with a valid Vehicle Identification Number (VIN). The associated API documentation must include clear field definitions, data schemas, error codes, and detailed integration guidance to ensure seamless deployment.
The service should maintain an up-to-date database, with new VIN information updates at least monthly, sourced from reputable industry datasets. Coverage must include all vehicles sold or imported into the North American market, spanning cars, trucks (GVW 1–3), commercial trailers, and motorcycles. Additionally, the solution must accurately identify and report errors when presented with invalid VINs, specifying whether issues pertain to the check digit or another component of the VIN as required.
The contract period will be two years.
