The town is seeking professional design services to prepare construction-ready documents for installation of an entry monument sign based on artwork previously approved through the town's call for art process by the parks, recreation and cultural commission and town council.
The selected consultant will be responsible for translating the approved artistic concept into a functional, durable, and code-compliant monument sign design suitable for construction and long-term public use. The scope includes project initiation and coordination, including a kickoff meeting with town staff to review project goals, approved artwork, site constraints, and implementation expectations.
The consultant will also analyze the approved artwork and develop design concepts that preserve the artistic intent while adapting it for constructability. Additional responsibilities include coordinating with the artist of the approved artwork and recommending suitable materials, finishes, colors, and fabrication methods compatible with the high desert environment, including exposure to ultraviolet light, temperature fluctuations, and wind. Associated site improvements to support safe public access and desert-appropriate landscaping are also part of the project.
