The state of Wisconsin is seeking information from vendors regarding an infrastructure monitoring tool that delivers proactive management and comprehensive visibility across their network and device landscape. The desired solution should support real-time monitoring of network devices, servers, routers, switches, and wireless access points, with features for identifying potential issues before they impact operations. Key requirements include active monitoring capabilities such as “Up/Down” status checks and support for protocols like ICMP, SNMPv2/v3, and WMI. The tool should also monitor performance metrics including CPU, memory usage, interface status, and ping latency.
Additional functionalities should include the ability to generate immediate alerts and create tickets within IT service management platforms, preferably ServiceNow. Passive monitoring via SNMP traps, syslog messages, and Windows event logs, as well as grouping and applying monitors, is necessary. The tool must support suspension of monitoring and alerting for maintenance or due to device dependencies, and provide flexible scheduling for blackout windows. Robust reporting exports, integration with directory services and CMDB, as well as documentation detailing the security of the system, are also required. Lastly, the platform must demonstrate flexibility to adjust licensing annually in response to changing organizational needs.
Interested parties should note that all questions regarding this request should be submitted no later than January 6, 2026.
