An Ontario agency is seeking experienced consultants to develop a comprehensive parking strategy that supports planned community growth. The selected consultant will create a transitional parking strategy, review and update existing policies, and make recommendations on zoning by-laws, parking regulations, and related programs.

Key components of the engagement include documenting current Federal and Provincial parking requirements, defining the study's problems and opportunities, and utilizing available data to project future residential and on-street parking demand through 2051. The strategy will also focus on maintaining clear fire lane accessibility and unobstructed emergency routes, considering how changes in residential density and parking congestion may affect emergency response times and vehicle maneuverability. Evaluation of parking regulations' impact on access to hydrants, driveways, and high-risk areas is also required.
