DESCRIPTION

The government authority located in Pasadena, California is seeking information from vendors capable of providing optical engineering and optomechanical engineering services. The work includes high-level optical design and modeling, complex optomechanical hardware design, structural thermal optical performance analysis, test equipment automation, and hands-on integration, precision alignment, and verification in cleanroom environments.

Required capabilities include optical modeling and tolerancing using raytracing software for sensitivity and Monte Carlo analyses. Vendors should also be able to support multidisciplinary Structural, Thermal, and Optical Performance (STOP) analysis workflows by translating raw thermal and structural perturbations into raytracing software to identify performance deformations.

The scope further includes optomechanical flight hardware design and structural analysis, including translating optical design points into three-dimensional CAD coordinate frames and performing high-fidelity mechanical tolerance stackups to confirm that flight assemblies provide adequate physical adjustment ranges.
