An organization in Ireland is seeking a vendor to implement and support a SaaS-based backup and recovery solution for its Microsoft Office 365 tenant data and configurations. The solution must provide comprehensive protection for a wide range of Microsoft 365 workloads, including Exchange Online, OneDrive for Business, SharePoint Online, Teams, M365 Groups, Public Folders, and the tenant's identity/configuration within Entra ID (Azure AD).

The scope includes backup and secure storage of all defined workloads, as well as the Entra ID/Azure AD tenant configuration, applications, conditional access policies, roles, and service principals. Backups must be stored in an independent cloud environment with data sovereignty options and support features such as retention policies, immutability, versioning, archiving, and e-discovery. The solution should enable fast, granular restores of individual objects, metadata, or full datasets, and include robust monitoring, reporting, and audit logging of backup and restore activities.

Vendors must ensure the implementation follows a least privilege design using dedicated service accounts and connectors for Microsoft 365/Entra ID. Compliance with applicable regulations is required, along with Service Level Agreements specifying data availability, backup and recovery success, and recovery SLAs (RTO/RPO). The solution should support migration or initial loading of existing data if needed, and include implementation, thorough testing (including restore testing), training, and handover to the client.
