The selected vendor will provide services in interpretive planning, historical research, oral history collection, and content development. Responsibilities include conducting a comprehensive literature review, archival research, and field reconnaissance to document site usage during designated historic periods. The vendor will also compile and review related agency plans, including master, strategic, and preservation plans, in order to inform project strategy.
The contractor will develop an overview in collaboration with Tribal partners and create an interpretive database containing all assets, references, oral histories, and related materials. Additional tasks include identifying and mapping remnants of historic structures, such as retaining walls and foundations, and coordinating with environmental consultants for compliance with archaeological requirements. Required deliverables are an Existing Conditions Report, an Interpretive Database, and an Asset Inventory Map. The contractor will also develop a significance statement outlining management and program goals, and assemble a project team that includes subject matter experts, partners, stakeholders, and community representatives.
The contract period is for one year.
