The City of Oregon is seeking a qualified vendor to provide comprehensive interior and exterior cabling services. Scope of work includes fusion splicing, termination, testing, maintenance, and emergency restoration and repair of City fibre optic cable at multiple locations. All work will be performed under the direction of City Project Managers.
The project involves addressing a damaged buried conduit containing a 96-strand fibre optic cable, with repair and maintenance requirements set to ensure a cable life expectancy of at least 30 years. The fibre-optic cable must be resistant to water penetration, capable of withstanding one-meter static head or equivalent, and continuous pressure applied at one end of a one-meter filled cable for one hour. In addition, cables must meet a crush resistance of 220 N/cm (126 lbf/in) when tested as per TIA/EIA–455–25C, FOTP–25 standards, without evidence of cracking or splitting. No measurable increase in attenuation should be observed after load removal.
