An independent contractor is sought to provide cost estimating and review services for a stormwater infrastructure project in Aurora, Colorado. The scope encompasses the installation of a new storm sewer and outfall, including a trenchless crossing of Colfax Avenue, installation of inlets and laterals, relocation of wet utilities, and coordination with dry utility providers.
Responsibilities include site restoration of pavement, landscape, sidewalk, curb, and gutter to a condition equal to or better than before construction, as well as the removal or abandonment of existing storm sewers. The project involves approximately 3,500 linear feet of large-diameter storm sewer with deep trenching, low-vibration shoring, soil disposal, groundwater dewatering and potentially groundwater treatment. Custom drainage structures, access manholes, inlets, lateral storm pipes, and headwall/wingwall structures will be included.
Special considerations apply to the section between 14th Avenue and the Westerly Creek outfall, where environmental screening has identified hydrocarbons and historic landfill conditions, necessitating special handling and disposal of soils, along with ventilation, monitoring, and remediation for harmful gases.
