(1) Vendor needs to provide geotechnical investigation and percolation testing service to the government authority located in Desert Hot Springs, CA.– Potential geologic hazards at the site include seismic shaking, liquefaction induced settlement, and compressible near surface soils– The purpose of the geotechnical investigation and percolation study is to evaluate the surface and subsurface soil conditions, general site geology, and to identify geotechnical constraints that may affect proposed improvements; these constraints include faulting, liquefaction, and seismic shaking – In addition, we provided recommendations for grading / remedial grading, material shrinkage, seismic design, conventional shallow foundations and slabs–on–grade, retaining walls, deep foundation design, passive lateral design, concrete flatwork, preliminary pavement design, trenching and shoring, and site drainage.– The scope of this investigation included performing a site reconnaissance and Underground Service Alert mark–out / notification, drilling and logging of geotechnical and percolation test borings, collection of soil samples, performance of percolation testing and laboratory testing of soil samples collected, performance of engineering analyses, and preparation of this report.
