A government authority in Ohio is seeking a consultant to provide employee health insurance and benefits consulting services. The scope includes support for a self-insured dental plan, fully insured vision plan, flexible spending account, city-provided life insurance with short- and long-term disability coverage, voluntary life insurance, an employee assistance program, a wellness program administered in-house, and COBRA-related benefits administration.
The selected consultant is expected to evaluate and recommend the most economical funding methods for the benefits program while balancing cost control with program comprehensiveness. Services also include actuarial support as needed, such as calculating and recommending premium equivalent rates, administrative fees, and self-funded plan liabilities to help maintain plan sustainability and cost-effective coverage.
