The selected vendor will lead the modernization of the Ellucian Banner ecosystem, including comprehensive cloud migration and optional managed services. The scope encompasses the assessment, design, and full execution of migrating to the cloud, with all end-to-end services required. This includes technical discovery of the current infrastructure, applications, databases, interfaces, identity, security controls, and operational processes.
Responsibilities involve designing or integrating into a cloud landing zone, performing migration of Banner application tiers and related systems (including Degree Works, AppXtender, ODS, and Oracle Database 19c), making recommendations for modernization, and ensuring continuity for reporting and analytics dependencies. The migration must be designed with high availability and disaster recovery, meeting defined resilience and security requirements, such as encryption, centralized logging, auditing, and least-privilege access.
Post-migration, the supplier is expected to provide operational handoff, knowledge transfer, and stabilization support. Additional requirements include automation and documentation for environment management, patching, and incident response. The contract term is one year, and suppliers can propose migration to AWS, Azure, OCI, or an alternative platform, provided the architecture and rationale are well justified.
