DESCRIPTION

The Iowa Department of Administrative Services (DAS) is seeking professional design services for the removal and replacement of existing ballast roofs on the Powerhouse Building (Building L, approx. 10,640 sq ft) and the Warehouse Building (Building J, approx. 8,952 sq ft) at the Fort Dodge Correctional Facility. The scope includes removal of ballast, rubber membrane, ridged insulation, flashing, metal trim, gutters, and downspouts, and the installation of new insulation, fully adhered EPDM membrane, flashing, trim, gutters, and downspouts. The contract will be a modified ConsensusDoc 803.

KEY REQUIREMENTS

  • Firms must be registered with the Office of the Iowa Secretary of State (unless a sole proprietorship or general partnership)
  • Plans, specifications, and cost estimates must be prepared by a design professional licensed or registered in the State of Iowa
  • Must maintain professional liability insurance in the amount of $2 million
  • Must use the State of Iowa’s construction management software program
  • Must participate in the site/virtual visits indicated in the Designer Scope Checklist
