SUMMARY

Prequalification is requested for contractors to construct a new fire station and air passenger terminal, and demolish an existing building at Hanscom Air Force Base, Massachusetts.

DESCRIPTION

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New England District, is seeking to prequalify sources for the construction of a new fire station and Air Passenger Terminal (APT), as well as the demolition of Building 1721 at Hanscom Air Force Base (HAFB), Massachusetts. The scope includes building a single-story, 25,532 square foot fire station with apparatus bays for six vehicles, living quarters, and administration spaces. The structure will feature a concrete foundation, reinforced floor slabs, steel framing, masonry walls, HVAC systems, a central fire alarm, and an Emergency Communications Center supporting both Fire and Security Forces Dispatch, as well as related paving and landscaping.

Additionally, a single-story, 5,156 square foot APT will be established north of the existing Building 1721, including safety offices, a Distinguished Visitors lounge, pavement for building access and turnaround, and sidewalks. The existing flightline perimeter fence will be re-routed to accommodate the new APT building. Once these new facilities are completed and operational, the current multi-story, 21,270 square foot Building 1721—housing the existing fire station, safety offices, air passenger terminal, and Distinguished Visitor lounge—will be demolished. Building 1721 must remain functional until tenants have relocated.

Qualified bidders must demonstrate completed experience within the past ten years on a new construction, single-building project with a minimum construction cost of $30 million and at least 18,000 square feet of interior area. Documentation includes an example project, relevant compliance letters, a CAGE Code, and proof of active registration in the System for Award Management (SAM). Only sources passing this prequalification will be eligible to bid in the later solicitation.
