The government authority in Bangor, Maine is seeking a vendor to provide compass rose recertification services. The scope includes a preliminary survey of the compass rose location using a total field magnetometer to confirm the site meets applicable requirements.
The selected vendor will conduct an absolute declination survey to determine the average declination of the compass rose and identify where the radials should be painted. Services also include marking the radial locations on the compass calibration pad to within one minute of arc of the average measured declination, replacing the magnetic north marker if required, and checking the true azimuth of the compass rose against measurements from the previous survey.
The vendor will be expected to provide written reports detailing the findings of the magnetic surveys, along with follow-up consultation regarding the compass rose survey. Questions related to this solicitation must be submitted no later than May 21, 2026.
