The City of Ontario is seeking a qualified vendor to develop a comprehensive city-wide trail strategy. The selected vendor will be responsible for conducting thorough research and analysis, organizing and facilitating community engagement events, and preparing detailed reports, plans, and supporting materials required for the project.
The scope of work includes reviewing a wide range of municipal documents such as current and historic plans, bylaws, strategic documents, and survey results to ensure the new strategy aligns with existing initiatives. The vendor will be expected to perform comparative analyses on best practices, academic literature, professional standards, and approaches used by peer municipalities.
Collaboration with City staff from various departments—including operations, parks planning, recreation and culture, community planning, transportation engineering, geomatics, environment, and other city-retained consultants—is essential for collecting data and ensuring a coordinated and comprehensive outcome. The work will help set the direction for the future development and management of the city’s trail network.
