A government authority in Austin, Texas is seeking a vendor to provide building automation networking system services. The scope centers on evaluating and troubleshooting communications within the building automation system environment to help ensure controllers, devices, and related network components are operating properly.
Required services include performing network analysis for communication issues, verifying communication with all controllers, and conducting in-depth troubleshooting, including physical tracing of communication wiring when needed. The selected vendor is also expected to review trend, event, and alarm logs with the customer; assess system overrides and disabled statuses; identify critical and offline conditions; and examine system points for discrepancies such as calibration problems, non-reporting points, sub-LAN integrity issues, and inaccurate feedback loops. Items requiring field repair or recalibration must be identified and submitted for service.
The work also includes inspection of global controllers to confirm proper DC power levels, transmit and receive activity, and possible error code indications. The vendor must verify time synchronization between global controllers and the workstation and inspect wiring for corrosion, fraying, discoloration, defective shielding, and shield grounding issues.
