The project involves replacing legacy barcode scanning tools with updated hardware and cloud-based software, supporting asset tagging, validation, and inventory reconciliation. The solution must enable generation of barcode labels at receiving, read and update asset records, and capture essential asset details including serial numbers, locations, and custodians.

The system should feature real-time validation of scanned assets against Oracle Fusion, ensuring automatic updates to asset lifecycle status and metadata. Planning includes conducting site visits to assess compatibility with current barcode infrastructure and evaluating requirements for new equipment. The vendor will provide and configure approximately 70 physical inventory scanners (with or without Wi-Fi capabilities) and 20 barcode printers for various receiving locations.
