Architectural and Engineering Services

The government authority in Colonial Heights, Virginia is seeking qualified firms to provide architectural and engineering services on an as-needed basis. Services may include site and building planning, space programming, space planning, architecture, landscape architecture, interior design, and engineering disciplines such as structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and civil engineering. Additional requested services may include roof repair or replacement design, life-cycle costing, energy modeling, surveying, and other related support for specific project scopes.

The selected firm or firms may be asked to support multiple project phases. During the study and preliminary design phase, responsibilities include reviewing available agency data. In the design phase, the consultant will assist with obtaining design approvals through submissions to relevant officials and authorities and by attending meetings necessary to secure approvals.

During the bidding phase, the consultant will provide detailed fee proposals for bid-phase services and assist the agency with related tasks as needed. In the construction administration phase, responsibilities include conducting pre-construction meetings, preparing meeting minutes, advising the agency as its construction administration representative, and holding periodic progress meetings. Closeout support is also anticipated as part of the overall service offering.
