SUMMARY

Seeking an on-premises RFID asset management system for the 2d SFS to enable secure, real-time tracking of inventory in high-security environments using CAC authentication and custom military workflows.

DESCRIPTION

The 2d Security Forces Squadron (2 SFS) requires the implementation of an Inventory/Accountability System to streamline tracking and management of warehouse assets and support unit restructuring. Currently, the squadron is reliant on outdated paper-based processes, leading to risks in chain-of-custody and potential loss of critical equipment, which can negatively impact future funding and increase risks of fraud and waste.

This RFP calls for a validated on-premises solution comprised of dedicated servers, mobile workstations, and network switches distributed across three operational areas. The system must be integrated with Common Access Card (CAC) authentication to ensure an immutable audit trail connected to individual DoD IDs. It should accommodate hybrid barcode and RAIN RFID work processes using the H–RAMP encoding application and Honeywell CN80G rugged mobile devices for real-time asset tracking.

Additional requirements include support from military subject matter experts for data normalization, custom reporting for DD/DA hand receipts, an intensive five-day onsite implementation and training program, and preparation of all necessary documentation for Risk Management Framework (RMF) review and eMASS submission. The delivered solution must be standalone—independent from USAF network infrastructure—to ensure operation in high-security and disconnected environments, such as sensitive Arms Rooms. Off-the-shelf and third-party reseller solutions are deemed insufficient due to lack of CAC authentication, custom functionality, and compliance with military standards.

The scope covers all hardware, software, and professional services needed to achieve a secure, self-contained asset management system tailored to the unique operational needs of the 2 SFS and in accordance with Air Force Global Strike Command requirements.
